Boardwalktech Breaks through 25,000 users in 2012
Palo Alto, California – January 11, 2013
Boardwalktech, Inc., the leading provider of spreadsheet data management technology for the enterprise and developer of the patented Boardwalk Collaboration Platform (BCP), announced today that its users base broke through 25,000 users during 2012. New and existing customers including Rockwell Automation, Brocade, Merck, and Whirlpool have selected BCP to enterprise enable spreadsheet-based processes making them collaborative, secure, and integrated with their other enterprise application and data environments. In addition, existing customers have added additional processes to their BCP environments.
“There’s still a large gap in the enterprise for collaborative processes that companies want to work with using Excel,“ said Andrew T. Duncan, President and CEO, “and our customers continue to select BCP to enable and support enterprise quality data management for these processes using the familiar Excel desktop environment but now with the process data managed at the cell level in BCP.”
Unlike other enterprise data management applications that support collaboration at the file or record-object level and use check-in/check-out or record locking concurrency control, only the Boardwalk Collaboration Platform enables concurrent, multi-user collaboration at the cell level for positional data managed within a spreadsheet. Utilizing a patented data management technology running on top of a standard relational database deployed securely in the cloud or behind your firewall, BCP enables a secure, two-way exchange of data between multiple users working on the desktop which is as easy to use as email. Users can work "offline" in Excel on an access controlled view of the data and, when ready, share cell-level changes with the click of a button. BCP also supports two-way integration with backend systems which means companies can finally bridge the gap between the desktop and the enterprise.
